Wow, what a ride! Finishing Spyro 2: When the Plug Cry Tears Finale left me with a huge smile and a warm, fuzzy feeling. Lakia really delivered a satisfying conclusion to Spyro and Cyn's story, a rollercoaster of emotions that kept me hooked from beginning to end. The action was intense, the stakes were high, and the sheer amount of drama kept me on the edge of my seat – but it was the heart of the story that truly resonated.
I loved seeing Spyro's growth. He’s a complex character – undeniably sexy, yes, but also deeply flawed. Watching him confront his past mistakes, learn from them, and ultimately fight for the woman and family he loves was incredibly rewarding. His journey felt authentic, highlighting the messy realities of relationships and personal growth. He made some serious blunders, but his commitment to Cyn and their child ultimately redeemed him. He learned his lesson about stepping out, and seeing him finally prioritize his family was incredibly satisfying.
And Cyn! She's a force of nature. Her strength, her resilience, and her refusal to be a victim are inspiring. She's a woman who loves hard, protects her family fiercely, and isn't afraid to dish out a little payback when necessary. Their love story is far from perfect, filled with challenges and near misses, but their enduring bond, their ability to forgive, and their determination to make their relationship work was heartwarming. Seeing them finally achieve their happily ever after, especially with the arrival of their baby girl, brought such a sense of closure and joy. It truly felt like everything came full circle.
Beyond the central couple, I enjoyed catching up with all the supporting characters. Chop, Rio, and the rest of the crew brought a much-needed dose of humor and camaraderie. The relationships between these characters felt authentic and developed over the series' span, creating a vivid and memorable world. While I understand the author's decision regarding Chop and the girls, I have to admit I secretly hope for a future appearance! There are some loose ends I felt satisfied were tied up, which shows Lakia's good writing in knowing her audience.
One reviewer mentioned the overuse of the word "bubbled," and while I didn't find it overly distracting, I can see how repetitive phrasing could disrupt the flow for some readers. It’s a minor quibble, though, considering the overall strength of the story.
